Barbara was born October 1, 1935 in Meadville, PA to Lillian A. Workman and Stanley A. Workman of Wheeling, West Virginia.
She graduated from Allegheny General Nursing School in 1959 and received her Masters Degree from Slippery Rock College in 1978.
Barbara was a giver until her final days. She loved her family, traveling and making connections with people. She loved new experiences, laughing and dancing. She was an excellent knitter and her favorite place to knit was by the ocean in Jupiter, Florida.
She met the love of her life, Stuart P. Farmer, in 1977. They enjoyed a full life together until his passing in 2014.
She is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Rob) Stiefvater of New Rochelle, NY, Michelle (Jay) Davis of Orlando, Fl., Leslie (Steve) Friend of Pittsburgh, PA.; five step children; and, 12 grandchildren.
