

Camille Suzanne Burnett, age 88, of Orlando, passed away April 18, 2013. She was born November 28, 1924 in Edgard, Louisiana to Susthene and Amelia Burrell. Mrs. Burnett was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, auntie and friend. Camille lived in New York for forty years, where she raised her family and worked for the N.Y. Transit Authority. She retired in 1985 and moved to Orlando, Florida “alone” in 1990.
Miss Camille was known for her high energy, bright spirit, and quick wit. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society: Mad Hatters of South Orlando, NYC Transit Retirees of Florida (TWU Local 100 Chapter 6), the Young and Restless, Claudia Allen Senior Center and the Young At Heart, St. John Vianney. Camille loved to play bid whist, Canasta, Phase 10 and UNO. She was also an avid NFL, golf and tennis buff; Tiger Woods, the Williams sisters and the Dallas Cowboys were her favorites.
She was preceded in death by her husband Will Herman Burnett Sr. and is survived by her children, Will Herman (Barbara) Burnett, Jr., Diane Marie (Michael) Morris, Cassandra Ann Matthews, Keith Vincent (Judy) Burnett and Terrance Mark Burnett; grandchildren, Steven Shawn Parham, Nikia Parham, Akia Jamila Burnett, Mitsue Camille Burnett, Ashly Christina Burnett, Kyle Christopher Burnett; great-grandchildren, Nya Burnett, Etienne Marley Parham, Michael Elijah Madison and Jasmine Diane Madison; brother Charles Russell Vincent (Loretta) Burrell; many loving nieces and nephews as well as a host of special friends.
A celebration of Camille’s life will be held on April 24, 2013 from 3 PM to 6 PM at Family Funeral Care, 13001 South John Young Parkway Hunter’s Creek, Orlando, Florida.
