

The Story of His Life Carl Alexander was born in Mulberry, Florida to the late Harvey Alexander and Alice Alexander on December 29, 1944. He departed this life on December 25, 2016. Carl attended Union Academy Elementary and High School and graduated with the class of 1962. After graduation he enlisted inthe United States Air Force specializing in Intelligence for 10 years and Social Actions/Human/Race Relations for 13 years. Dutystations were Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, TX; Kelly AFB, San Antonio, TX; Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX; RAF Chicksands AFB, England; Osan AFB, Korea and Tyndall AFB, Panama City, FL. After retirement from the United States Air Force in 1985, he gained employment as a Veterans Employment Counselor with the State of Florida until his retirement in 2003. Carl also owned and operated the Alexander Lawn Service from 1985 to 2016. Carl was a fishing enthusiast, a member of the Masons as well as the NAACP. Additionally, Carl played football at Union Academy and in the Air Force, he coached and played basketball and football. He also coached boys Little League Basketball and was also a student of black history. Carl leaves to mourn his wife of 34 years – Sheryl A. Alexander; son – Troy (Deborah) Alexander, San Antonio, TX; daughters – Johnna (Quincy) Williams, Live Oak, Fl; Carla Hill, San Marcos, TX; Ivy Durgan, Pittsburgh, PA and Sebrina (Donald) Huesing, Orlando, Fl; Grandsons – Deontae Williams, Terrell Williams, granddaughters – Keionna Williams, Khianna Hill, Brittney Durgan and Sophia Linh Huesing; brother – Edward Alexander; sisters – Addine Grace, Barbara Etta (Bobby) Jackson and a host of other relatives, friends, neighbors and loved ones. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers – Horace Alexander, Bobby Alexander and Jerome Alexander; and his sisters – Leola Taylor, Mary Alexander, Bernice McGhee, Shirley Alexander and Sarah Lee Alexander.
