Biography

Carol Anne Roth was born Carol Anne Wiegman on October 12, 1943 in White Plains, NY. It was wartime and her father, Lawrence Wiegman, was away fighting WWII, and later taken as a POW till the war ended. Carol was 2 years old when she met her father for the first time. She adored her father. Carol has two siblings, Linda and Wayne. She finished up high school in Roswell, NM and graduated on June 1963. She graduated from college in June of 1967 with a degree as an elementary teacher. She got her first teaching job in Los Angeles, CA. There she met and married Thomas King and had two children, Robert and Connie. Sadly, this marriage did not last and in 1972, Carol moved to Florida with her two kids. First, they lived with Carol's parents while she got established in the area. Later, Carol married George Roth, on June 23, 1978. Carol taught until April of 1989,when she was injured in an accident with a dump truck and had to retire. It was months before she could function normally again. Carol had survived a bout with Hodgkin's' Disease around 1983 and later in her life, breast cancer. Carol lived close by and watched over her parents as they aged and then passed away. She loved them well. Robert lived for many years further away while Connie married and moved to SC. Carol would come up to SC to spend Christmas with Connie and her family- where they made many precious memories together. Carol had many friends who loved her. They would go out to eat, play cards or go dancing. In recent years, Robert and his wife, Lihong, lived with Carol in the home that Carol's parents had lived in for over 30 years. It was during this time that Carol's health began to deteriorate slowly. She eventually ended up on a ventilator to help her breath and could no longer stand or walk. She remained positive and hopeful till the end. She always has such a sweet smile on her face. She was so fun-loving and kind. She was such a special lady who will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
