Christine built a dedicated career as an Executive Assistant in the aviation and engineering industries before retiring in 2012. She was a proud Navy wife, embracing the strength, resilience, and sense of community that came with military life to include some lifelong friendships.
She was known not only for her professionalism but, more importantly, for her incredibly kind and generous spirit. Christine had a heart big enough to welcome everyone, making people feel at home wherever she was. She never failed to check in on family and friends and will be fondly remembered for her famous lasagna and brownies, which brought comfort and joy to so many.
Her greatest love was her family. She also had a deep passion for volunteering with individuals with special needs, a cause close to her heart. Christine found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—crafting, playing cards, bingo, and browsing her favorite online shops. A longtime member of the Red Hat Society, she cherished the friendships and memories she made there. She enjoyed a good steak followed by a sweet treat and was affectionately known as the “Animal Whisperer,” especially when it came to her beloved Chyna Girl.
Christine is survived by her loving daughters, Suzette Cruz (Felix Cruz Jr.), Trisha Huftill, and Jamie Huftill; her brother, Marc Gervais (Lynn Gervais); her cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Celina, Jaelyn, Emerald, Ciara, Samier, Madison, and Nina; and her adored great-grandchildren, Callie, Caiden, Evianna, Alivia, Quinlee, Amaya, Messiah, and Xela.
She was preceded in death by Wallace F. Huftill.
Christine’s warmth, compassion, resilience, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
