

Claudio Garalde went by the nickname "Al". He was born June 6, 1932 in Waipahu, Hawaii raised on Maui and Lanai. He died in his home January 18, 2025 in Conway Florida where he was a resident in Conway since 1981.
He was a Retired Master Sergeant in the US Army. He served 32 yrs in the US Army with Deployments twice to Korea and 3 times to Vietnam. He was a member of LACA, loved family time and gatherings, hunting and fishing with his son and his friends. In recent years, he just liked being at camp or watching everyone catch fish. He outlived all his classmates and almost all his US Army military family that he served with. He will be remembered as being funny, loving and kind to his family, friends and neighbors. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his Georgia Family.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years before she passed in 2006, Sara Garalde; parents, Jose and Damiana Garalde; brothers, Rafino KIA Korea and Barney; sister, Mary M, and step son, Michael Hunt.
Claudio is survived by his daughter Krista Studly; son, Clay-Claudio F Garalde, Jr. both living in Orlando; sisters Ann W, Lucey T, and Fran B; grandchildren, David Hunt, Bobby Studly, Tristan Garalde; great grandchildren Audrey Cornel, Adeline Little Red Seaborn; daughters in law Dottie Garalde and Veronica Seaborn and son in law Steve Cascaddan.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 1413 South Semoran Blvd., Orlando, Florida 32804. The celebration of life service with military honors will follow at 6:00 pm.
Mr. Garalde will be inurned with his late wife Sara at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe, Hawaii at a later date.
