Daniel Arthur Meffen

Daniel Arthur Meffen died peacefully at home in Orlando, Florida on April 25, 2022. He was born in Ludlow, MA on August 6, 1952 and raised in Springfield, MA. He spent much of his life in Beach Park, IL. Daniel graduated from the former Springfield Technical High School in 1970. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout as a member of Troop 46. He also was a 40 year Master Mason of the Mt Orthodox Lodge originally in West Springfield, MA. Daniel joined the US Navy in 1971, serving until 1995 and rose to the rank of Master Chief Machinist Mate. He lived in VA, IL and MA during his Navy years. He served off the coast of Vietnam. He then worked at AbbVie from 1999-2013 in North Chicago, Illinois. Dan retired to Ashley Court Condominiums where he was active on the Board of Directors.

He is survived by his two sons, Shawn Meffen of North Carolina and James Patrick Meffen (Jaqueline) of Missouri; his pride and joy were his grandchildren: Marina, Caitlin, Connor, Morgan and Daniel; and his siblings, Mary, Patricia, Thomas, James A. and Stacy Meffen; and his daughter-in-law, Suzi Radovic. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert A and Lillian Meffen, his siblings Andrew and Robert P, and his ex wife Monica (Campbell).

Memorial contributions may be made to a Shriners Hospital for Children of your choice.

Funeral services will be private.
