David Parks passed away on March 11, 2018. Born on August 6, 1925 in Pelham, Tennessee, he was a kind person who took the time to speak to everyone he met and had an actual conversation with each when possible. David Parks and Betty Holder were married for 68 years after a brief courtship that crossed state lines and many Greyhound Bus trips. In addition to his wife, Betty, he is survived by his 3 sons: Keith (Joella), Mike (Candy), and Craig (Lori); 5 Grandchildren: Adam (Karissa), Meredth (Brandon), Bennett (Deirdre), Connor (Kalia), and Matthew; 1 Great-Grandchild (Callie). Additionally, David is survived by two of his eight siblings: Emma Jean White (Ralph) of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Frank Parks (Shirley) of Cleveland, Ohio. After a 20+ year career in the Air Force, David enjoyed a 2nd career in the United States Post Office. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Employees (NARFE), and has served as an Elder, Deacon, Sunday School teacher and usher at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church. Funeral arrangements are being managed by the Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Homes with all funeral services held at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1655 Peel Avenue, Orlando, 32806 - Saturday, March 17, 2018 with a 1:00 Visitation and 2:00 Service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Cornerstone Hospice at 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, Florida, 32778.
