Desmond Clive O’gilvie Sr. 66, passed away on April 14, 2023. Desmond was born in St. Thomas Jamaica, West Indies, on December 9, 1956, and grew up in Long Bay, Portland. He attended the Rural Hills School.
He was a brilliant tree climber and no tree was ever too tall for him to climb. He had always loved the water; if he was not at sea fishing with his cousins, he would be in the river swimming and catching crawfish in his younger days. His love for the ocean never wavered.
Desmond was preceded in death by his grandson, Chevon O’gilvie and son Stephen O’gilvie.
Desmond is survived by his son, Desmond Jr., his daughters, Samantha and Stephanie. His ex-wife, Yvonne. His 11 grandchildren, and his siblings, Veronica, Carlton, Geraldine, Beverly, Joy, Dorothy and Elaine.
