

Mrs. Dorothy P. Cameron, age 95, of Hunter’s Creek and formerly of Sun City Center, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at her residence. Born September 20, 1916 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late R. George Ward and the late Nora Nancy Pennell. Dorothy was also preceded by her husband of 36 years, Evan Cameron, and her son, Robert Cameron.
Survivors include her daughter, Nora Cameron; her grandchildren, Steven and Lyndsay; and two great-grandchildren, Max and Sienna.
Dorothy and Evan met during WW II while he was serving in the navy. After the war, they were married and returned to his native Scotland where they happily raised their family. Dorothy returned to the United States after the death of her husband to take care of her mother in Florida.
Dorothy was a member of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church in Sun City Center and enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, and playing bridge. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service to celebrate Dorothy’s life is being planned for a later date in both Sun City Center and in Scotland.
