Dorothy Jean Parnell

Dorothy Childress Parnell, age 87, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014 in Winter Park. Dorothy was born on August 19, 1926 in Starke, Florida, the daughter of the late Elliott and Iola (Cooper) Williams. She was a member of First Christian Church of Orlando. Her survivors include her 3 sons, Wayne, Mel (Gail) and Hal Childress; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her her first husband, John Childress, and her second husband, Ed Parnell; one brother, Albert; and a sister, Katie. Funeral services will be held for Dorothy on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at 10:00 am at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, Ivanhoe Chapel. Family and friends will be received on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
