

She was born September 18, 1929 in Orlando, Florida to John William and Flora Emma Pierce. She had three older sisters, Alice Wrennick, Irene Senkarik, Helen Wynn and one brother, John William Pierce, Jr., all who have predeceased Dorothy.
Dorothy attended Delaney Elementary School, Cherokee Jr. High and graduated from Orlando High School. She married Oakus R. Stephens, Jr. on February 3, 1946 and was married for sixty seven wonderful years until he passed. They were members of Trinity Lutheran Church, Downtown.
Dorothy served on the Alter Guild at the church for many years. She was a loving mother and homemaker.
She also got her real estate license and worked in real estate for a time.
Dorothy was a very good seamstress. She made her own dresses, her daughter’s dresses, skirts and blouses, and her three son’s shirts. She was also an excellent cook and baker.
Dorothy is survived by her four children; Tedd A. Stephens of Johnson City, Tennessee, Joy S. Burns of Orlando, Florida, Kelly M. Stephens of Gadsden, Alabama and Russell M. Stephens of Orlando, Florida. She is survived by a daughter in law, Sheryl, married to Kelly M. Stephens. She is also survived by a grandson, Kevin M. Stephens of Atlanta, Georgia and his wife, Jennifer. She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Robert Michael Burns of Van Wert, Ohio, Mikaela Stephens of Atlanta, Georgia, Malakai Stephens of Atlanta, Georgia and Mikah Stephens of Atlanta, Georgia.
She is predeceased by a grandson, Robert Paul Burns of Orlando, Florida.
