Bud was born in Lee, Florida on November 9, 1937 to the late James Henry and Cora Lee Greene. He was the 8th of 10 children, who were raised on a tobacco farm. Bud joined the United States Air Force and married the great love of his life, Jackie, in 1955.
While in the Air Force, Bud was the hydraulic shop chief and travelled the world to many places such as England, Germany, Thailand, Greece, New Mexico, California and the Philippine Islands, just to name a few. He served 21 years in the Air Force retiring in July 1975, after which, he worked in civil service for the Navy as a lineman for 19 years.
Bud then attended Valancia Community College and Mid-Florida Tech to obtain his journeyman's license in air conditioning/refrigeration. He operated his own business for the next 20 years until he permanently retired to spend time with his family at home.
Bud loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed making, tinkering, and fixing things where he could be found in his shop. He enjoyed fishing, camping, square dancing, listening to music, gardening, carpentry, puzzles, sitting up at night in front of his computer reaching out to family, or watching Smallville. Even though he was the strong silent type, Bud enjoyed a good knee-slapping joke and fried chicken.
He was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church/Oasis, the Eagles Club and the VFW, until his health declined.
