Fran proved creative and charismatic from a young age. Communications and technology were his first loves and lifelong vocations. At age 13, he had his own radio station—WN2VYW.
Fran earned his Bachelor of Science in Communications from St. John’s University, where he also made some of his closest lifelong friends.
He began his career in advertising and television in New York City. He went on to build and lead sales teams at prominent media organizations around the country, including in Connecticut, where he started his family.
Fran moved to Florida in 2007 and three years later co-founded The Simple Truth Foundation to support families who have fallen on hard times. His colleagues say he exemplified the foundation’s philosophy of ‘in helping others, we help ourselves.’
Fran was known for his charm and quick wit. His family and friends will remember his sense of humor, boisterous laugh, and engaging nature. Among a long list of “Frantastic” qualities, Fran was described as intelligent, inquisitive, personable, thoughtful, loving, and loved. He was a man of great faith, a devoted family man, and a cherished friend.
Fran is survived by his daughters Bethany (Eric) and Julia (Hunter), his sisters Cathy (Len) and Valerie, his brother Paul (Jackie), eight nieces and nephews, 15 great-nieces and nephews, and three grand-dogs. He is predeceased by his mother and father, and his brother David (Peggy).
Memorial services will be held in Florida and New Jersey. Fran’s family is grateful for those who wish to express their sympathy—they encourage memorial donations to https://www.simpletruthfoundation.org/
