Georgina Irene Francisco (Gina) went to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on July 10, 2018. She was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 19, 1955, daughter of the late Costa and Frances Francisco.
Gina grew up in Orlando, Florida where she was part of the family business, Blodgett Gardens & Nursery. The business was specifically built by our maternal grandparents, so Gina would always have a place to work. She loved plants and could grow anything with her “green thumb”. She definitely inherited it from our Mom and Grandad Blodgett. She loved working at the garden center and roses were her favorite flowers. Our customers and friends adored her and would come by just to visit with Gina, eat lunch, or to talk about their plant issues.
Gina had a photographic memory and could do math in her head like no one could. Calculators or computers - she didn’t need one, she was one. She loved her summer vacations with our parents and nephew, Matthew Justice, at our cabin in Eustis, Maine. She loved visiting with our cousins, Ray and Viola Armandi, and her dear friends, Joe and Donna Aucion, and many other family and friends up in the mountains of Maine.
If you had the honor of knowing Georgina, you were truly blessed by her awe of life itself. She never let her disabilities get in her way. Gina was a very loving and caring person and had a very special place in all our hearts. She definitely impacted all our lives showing us that money or things will never make you happy, but only family and friends. She will be dearly missed by every one of us.
She is preceded in death by her parents. She also leaves behind her 4 brothers: Nicholas (Martha) of Winter Park, Frank (Tayloe) of Vero Beach, Chris (Lori) and Mike (Denise) both of Orlando; 2 sisters: Angelia Francisco of Orlando and Penelope Phelps of Winter Garden. She will also be missed by a very long list of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, long-time family friends, and her “best friend” Diana Shay.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Baldwin-Fairchild Ivanhoe Chapel, Orlando.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Christian Church, Maitland. Burial to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park, Winter Park.
