Haydee Vergara

ORLANDO, FL - Haydee Vergara, 90, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on October 5, 2023. She was born on December 10, 1932, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, to the late Mary Vasquez.

Haydee moved from Puerto Rico to Brooklyn, N.Y. with her family at 8 years of age. She attended a vocational high school where she completed a course in dressmaking. It was during this time that she met her husband Albert, who was on leave from the service. They fell in love and married after he came home from his tour in the Korean War. After working for several years as a secretary she and the family moved to the Long Island suburbs. After raising their children, they relocated to Orlando, Florida, where she and Albert eventually retired.

Haydee was a devoted member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, where she actively served on several committees. She used her talent as a seamstress to create seasonal banners for the church. Her faith played a significant role in her life, and she found great joy in her involvement with the church community.

In her free time, Haydee enjoyed various hobbies, including gardening, sewing, quilting, crocheting, and knitting. She loved using her skills to create beautiful gifts for her family, friends, and the church. Haydee also had a passion for taking care of children and was known for her exceptional cooking. Additionally, she had a love for dancing, always lighting up the dance floor with her moves.

Haydee is survived by her loving children: Susan Vergara, Steven Vergara, daughter-in-law Lynda Vergara, Orlando Perez, Jennie Perez, and Albie Perez. She was also a cherished grandmother to Christina Vergara, Marisa Vergara, Brian Bello (Amanda Bello), Melissa Bello (Idwin Perez), Justin Perez, and great-grandchildren Story Marisol Perez, and Rosie Joy Bello. Haydee was preceded in death by her beloved husband Albert Vergara.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 12, from 6pm to 8pm at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, located at 1413 S Semoran Blvd, Orlando, FL 32807. A Mass to celebrate Haydee's life will be held on Friday, October 13, at 10:00am at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, located at 4301 S. Chickasaw Trail, Orlando, FL 32829.

A funeral service will occur Friday, October 13, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Issac Jogues Catholic Church, 4301 S. Chickasaw Trail, Orlando, FL 32829.
