She was born in St. Catherine’s Parrish on February 17, 1920, number 2 out of 8 children of Alice Lewis and William Jones. Raised by her grandmother and beloved father, she went to Mount Industry school and didn’t finish her primary schooling to help take care of her family.
She was first married to Oswald Woodrow Wilson on August 1, 1945. He was a soldier in the Jamaican Defence Force, and she was a stay-at-home wife and mother. She was affectionately known as Ms. Ina, Grandma, Mom! or her favorite nickname, Goddy.
She baked and sold goods and other items to the local community and was an active and committed member of the St. Phillip’s Anglican church in her beloved neighborhood of Harker’s Hall. They divorced amicably around 1962.

She was an active member with a Seventh-Day Adventist church locally, St. John’s Episcopal Church and lastly, Church on the Living Edge (COTLE) for the last several years.
She had a 2nd opportunity towards matrimony and married to David Ashman, for under a year where she was unexpectedly widowed until the end of her days.
