
Juanita Vivian Wicker, 86, of Orlando, Florida, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, August 23, 2021. Juanita was born on November 13, 1934 to Perry Rainey and Julia Marchant Rainey. She was the youngest of six children, and was a proud graduate of Orlando High School, class of 1952.
She married her husband of 59 years, James Wicker, in Pinecastle, Florida in 1954. Together, Juanita and James had two sons, Steven and Tim.
Juanita was accomplished and respected, having worked for the Lockheed Martin Corporation for over 40 years. It is said that she was a pioneer for women in the work place, paving the way for other women to achieve leadership roles.
And while her professional accomplishments are remarkable, the true legacy she leaves behind is the family she loved fiercely. Juanita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a friend. She was a woman built of strength and compassion, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
Juanita is survived by her sons Steven Wicker (Jo) and Tim Wicker (Mary); her grandchildren, Bryan, Sharon, and Theresa, and six beautiful great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and five siblings.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Lock Haven Baptist Church, 14246 Boggy Creek Road, Orlando, FL 32824.
