Judith Helen Powell passed away at age 85 in Orlando, FL on August 25, 2026. She was born to William and Helen (Mahoney) Snyder of Green Island, NY. Judy was predeceased by her beloved husband David Powell and brother-in-law William Markowitz. She is survived by her children Dori James-Lowe (Charles Lowe), William Powell (MJ), Mary Judd (Michael), Suzanne Fiori (Gregg), grandchildren Trevor James, Lily Dansa, Harmony Fiori, Virginia Powell, Daisy Fiori, brother Donald Snyder (Anne), and sister Jane Markowitz. Judy graduated from Saint Peter’s Hospital School of Nursing in Albany, NY and worked as a Registered Nurse. She later served as the school nurse at Brooks Hill Elementary School in Fairport, NY and at Glenmont Elementary School in Glenmont, NY. Judy enjoyed her family, friends, reading, and cross stitching. A private family service will be held to honor Judy’s life. Internment will be at West Ghent Rural Cemetery in Ghent, NY.
