Kimberly Ruby Bledsoe

Kim was born on June 12, 1968, in Orlando, Florida, to Thomas and Susan Ruby. She graduated from Lake Highland Preparatory School and earned her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Central Florida. She was also a proud member of Chi Omega sorority.

Kim had a special love for children and children’s books. Throughout her life, she worked as a teacher, nanny, with Scholastic Book Fairs, and most recently at a preschool in Leesburg, Florida. She truly loved the children she cared for, and they brought so much happiness and purpose to her life.

Kim was an incredibly loyal friend. Her friendships meant the world to her, and when Kim loved someone, she loved them wholeheartedly. She was the friend who checked in, listened, laughed with you, and stood beside you. Many of those friendships lasted through decades and different seasons of life.

She loved football, watching dance reels, the beach, and Christmas—especially Christmas. It was the traditions, decorations, music, excitement, and time spent with those she loved that made it so special.

Above everything else, Kim loved her family fiercely. She treasured being a sister and an aunt and loved her nephews immensely. Family meant everything to her—the holidays, laughter, inside jokes, shared memories, and simply being together.

Kimberly was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Thomas and Susan Ruby. There is comfort in imagining Kim reunited with her mom and dad, whom she loved and missed so dearly.

She is survived by her brother, Eric Ruby and his wife, Stephanie, of Tampa, Florida; her sister, Ashley Patrick and her husband, Al, of Cass City, Michigan; and her beloved nephews, Carter Patrick, Trent Patrick, Austin Ruby, and Walker Ruby, along with extended family and many dear friends.

Kim’s life will be remembered through the children she cared for, the friendships she cherished, the family she loved beyond measure, and the countless memories she leaves behind. She will be especially missed during family gatherings, football season, Christmas, and in those everyday moments when someone thinks, “I need to tell Kim about this.”

Kimberly will be remembered as a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, educator, caregiver, and fiercely loyal friend.

She was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.

A small, private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, when Kimberly’s family and close friends will gather to remember her and celebrate a life that meant so much to so many.
