Born on February 10, 1976, at Fort Knox, Kentucky, Linda was the beloved daughter of Charles and Gail Smith. From an early age, she was known for her bright smile, kind heart, and deep devotion to her family.
She graduated from Dr. Phillips High School in 1994. In August 2001, Linda married the love of her life and was widowed in May 2002. Though she faced life’s hardships with quiet strength, her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her son, James.
Linda leaves behind her cherished son, James, 17; his father Douglas Marlette, her brothers and their wives, David (Joey) and Kenneth (Jodie) and many nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Linda. She also leaves behind extended family members and countless friends whose lives were touched by her generosity and compassion.
Linda deeply cherished her family and friendships. She spent many years volunteering at James’s school, always showing up with encouragement, patience, and a willing heart. She was active in the Scouting program, beginning as a Cub Scout Den Leader and advancing to Boy Scouts as James grew up. She attended and advanced as a leader and trainer for the Boy Scout Troop 6 James was in. She had a special way of making others feel welcome and valued. Whether through a simple conversation, a helping hand, or an act of kindness, Linda gave freely of herself.
She will be remembered for her loving spirit, her resilience, and her unwavering dedication to those she cared about. Her warmth and gentle strength will live on in the memories of all who knew her.
A service will be held on February 28th at 1:00 p.m. at Baldwin-Fairchild Conway Funeral Home, 1413 S. Semoran Blvd., Orlando, FL 32807. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Linda’s life.
Though she will be deeply missed, Linda’s love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
