She was the most beautiful person i have ever known.  So kind and loving. Always wanted everyone to enjoy life with no worries and always smiles. I had the pleasure of being a part of her family for a long time. I don't think there isn't a week that goes by i don't talk about her. Rest in peace Grandma. Thanks for showing me what real love in a family is about.xo

Lorraine came in to our lives in more ways than one

When we first built our house across from her and Bob, Ron met Lorraine before I did.  He told me you are going to LOVE Lorraine.  She is the nicest lady.  Well that was an understatement.  She took care of my husband and my son, until I was able to make the transition to Merritt Island.   If I could be half the lady Lorraine was, I would consider myself successful.  

Not only was Lorraine our neighbor (I cried like a baby when she and Bob moved),but when she taught fifth grade, one of the students she taught, taught me in several of my classes at work decades later.  I did not find this out until years later.  The girl who taught me is Dr. Terry Rowell Anderson  My point is that Lorraine touched lives she probably didn't even realize she touched and was loved by all.  Rest in Peace you sweet Lady Love Linda, Ron and family

We have so many treasured memories of our Aunt Lorraine. One of the best was a week at Merritt Island when our children were young.  It was the best. We send our sympathy, love and thanks for all the love you shared with us.

Sorry for your loss, may you always cherish your fond memories of Lorraine , I'm sure she was a fine example among her family and for that she will be truly missed may you rely on the God of all comfort during this time.

I will always treasure the memory of visiting Aunt Lorraine to celebrate her birthday. During this visit she and Uncle Bobby met "the little ruskie" as Uncle Bobby fondly named him.  Treasured memories forever...may she rest in peace and may God hold her loved ones tenderly in his arms.

Lorraine was and always will be one of the best and closest friends we have ever had.  We shared many fun times with her and her husband Bob and daughter Susan. Her infectious laugh, her intellect, and her total and complete sense of decency will live on forever in our minds and hearts. No matter where we were, without fail LeVera would speak with Lorraine on the phone several times a week over the many years we knew her. While we mourn her passing and will dearly miss her, we join in celebrating a life well spent.

Lorraine Hurst was the best teacher I ever had.  As a student in her class over 50 years ago, she taught me much more than just things associated with the 5th grade.  She taught me about life.  From her I learned to never be totally satisfied with what I had done--I could always do better.  She taught me to be fair, to treat others with kindness, and to work harder than I ever thought I could.  As a college professor today, I hope I have been able to teach my students those same things.  I had the pleasure of having her attend a graduation for Troy University in Orlando where I was teaching at the time a few years ago and I was so proud to have her see what I had become.  I owe some of that to her and I will be eternally grateful for having had that year so many years ago under her tutelage.

Mrs. Hurst was a rare educator. Her encouragement and words of wisdom stayed with me long after I last saw her at Lake Weston Elementary. Her guidance during my formative years has been priceless and I will always remember her with great admiration.

A truly special lady who will greatly be missed. we will cherish the fond memories of times we spent together. our deepest condolences to all the family. you are in our prayers.

Mrs. Hurst left a lasting impression on all lives she touched.  Loved being one of her Patrols in 6th grade and then visiting her at her home even after my years at Lake Weston.  You will be missed.

Mrs. Hurst was the best teacher ever !!!Tommy loved her and she loved him . She was a sweetheart of a lady  both in and out of school .Our family will miss her  and Christmas just won't be the same without her .Our love and condolences to Bob and Susan and their ,grandchildren and great grandchildren  .

I remember Mrs.Hurst well.  Definitely a favorite teacherr, always welcoming each student with kindness and love. She used to play her "tiny violin" in class and sing" "My heart cries for you, sighs for you, dies for you!" Now I'm playing my big violin as my heart sings for her.  I've thought of her often over the years with joy in my soul. Sending love and blessings to her  family.

One of the sweetest nicest most generous ladies ever! She will be deeply missed!  Love to the family during this difficult time!
