Mable Grant was born in Portland, Jamaica on May 12, 1924 to the late Augustus Grant and Viola Clarke. Miss Grant was a single mother who worked very hard and independently to take care of her family. She gave her life to the Lord and continued to serve him faithfully. She had a passion for ministry and was an ordained evangelist. She has won many souls for the Lord and was a great example and mother to many.
She migrated to the United States in 1978. She worked as a Homemaker, until she retired. Mable continued as an active member of Faith Christian Missionary (FCM) for many years.
Because Mable lived a surrendered life for Christ, he was able to work through her, therefore, she was of value to Him. Mable was a blessing in so many ways to so many. Her love for the Lord and others took her beyond herself. She’s someone who will pray with you, cry with you, laugh with you, and rejoice with you. She’s someone you can always depend on. She was driven not because she felt that it was useful or her duty to do so, or that there was something in it for her but simply because she loves the Lord.
As a mother and grandmother, she was simply the best. She was warm, kind and welcoming. The legacy she left us is to love and embrace others regardless of who they are. She was always observant and, in her observation, she would encourage, uplift, and rebuke, but all in love.
She told someone about a week before her passing that she wants to go be with her Heavenly Father; on Tuesday morning she woke up to find out that she is not homesick anymore because she is finally home.
We love you; we miss you; we’ll meet again where death has no victory, in a land where we’ll never grow old.
Mable Grant was preceded in death by her father Augustus Grant, mother Viola Clarke, and son Owen Malcolm.
She leaves to cherish daughters, grandchildren great grandchildren, son-in-law, daughter-in-law and her church family.
