Please help us celebrate the life of Mary Jo MacQuarrie, and commemorate the light she shed on the world. Loved by her family, friends, and patients, her attitude and smile were contagious, her passion undeniable, her heart full. Though she had three sons, she was a mother to many, and a friend to all. She enriched the lives of family and strangers alike. A seeker and a source of joy, her laugh echoed just a little longer, never dampened by hardship, reverberating in our hearts. A fighter, she never conceded on what she believed in or gave up on what she cared about. A lover, she showed us what it was to love unconditionally and wholly. A healer, she showed us what it was to take care of others and revel in the beauty of selfless kindness. This was especially evident in her career, she chose to be a nurse to help others, a brilliant example of a person devoted to making the world a better place, and weaving her care into countless lives of others. A kind person, her care was genuine, without expectation of return, granting us the example of what we could aspire to be.
Gone too soon, our days will be dimmer without the beautiful light she shed, but her memory lives on in our hearts, a memorial eternal to a person most gracious, an ethereal flame that cannot be extinguished.
“What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.” - Pericles
