Just found out today about Mary's passing.  My heart just sank. We meant 4 years ago when my Mom was diagnosed with lung cancer, this was such a scary time for us but Mary always, always made us feel better and that everything was going to be ok. I looked forward to seeing her smiling face every appointment.  What a wonderful woman & nurse who we will never forget and always miss.  We were blessed to have known her. I just found out that Mary had died in December.  I was one of her patients.  In 1997 I had surgery for lung cancer. She was my nurse.  My recovery included regular check-ups then went to a once a year x-ray and visit to the office.  I always looked forward to the office visit with her.  Though I have only seen her once a year for the past 10 years I counted her as a friend.

There is no words to express the sorrow of losing a person like Mary Lib. A truly wonderful woman who changed so many patient's lives by walking into the room and immediately offering hope and comfort in situations that could be so bleak.  The fact that patient's came to the mass spoke volumes.  Mary Lib inspired people to be the very best they can be.  I will miss you my friend but I will never forget you and the lessons that you taught.

Mary was one of the kindest, and sweetest people I have ever met.  I had the pleasure of working with her in the OR at ORMC with Alan and Dean too.  Mary made Alan's cases a breeze and she will be missed by anyone who ever met her.  My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family.

I was fortunate to have known your father, brothers, and you. What a calming, soothing person and nurse you were. You will be missed dearly.

I've never met a person who is preceeded into the room by her smile. You are the kindest person I've ever known. My great fortune is to have known you since hanging out with Dean from the fourth grade on.

Your caring and your heart is best exemplified by last March, when I went in for Cancer surgery, your smile appeared across the pre op room, you seemed to just glide right up to the bed (maybe it was the drugs), held my hand and comforted me, then went into the waiting area and comforted my wife which was so needed by her at that moment.

I am at a loss at why you would be taken from us, but, heaven will be a better place and this world will be a tougher place. God bless and protect your family, please know that we will be there for them and we will meet again. I will carry you in my heart as will everyone who knows you, I am better for having known you.

Marylib,  what a true inspiration you were to all our patients and fellow nursing staff.  Such compassion and kindness provided to all your patients was wonderful. You are greatly missed by your fellow nursing team.

Mary had such a kind & considerate presence no matter what was going on with her personally.  She must have had a lot of discomfort and pain with her hips prior to her surgeries but I never once heard her complain. She always had a sweet smile and concern for others.  We will miss her.

I was driving by your old house the other day and was telling someone that I spent a lot of time there during junior high school (slumber parties, dancing in the pool house, sleep overs, etc.)  Looking at the photos in the gallery brought back many memories, especially the Cherokee cheerleading pictures that your brother took of us at your house.  We were so young then but it really doesn't seem that long ago.  You were always a genuinely nice person and I can't believe you've been taken so soon;   There's nothing but good memories for me of you and I will think of you often.
