Our hearts ache, Moises is no longer physically with us and we will all miss him very much.

Moises, our dad’s beloved compai’ is in heaven and our Lord is smiling upon him and his life.

Whether he knew it or not, he was one of our first role models. And what a role model! He loved and obeyed God, loved his family, was honest, spoke his mind without offending and was one of the hardest working men we knew. We, Raul and Elena Mendieta’s children, called Moises and Isabel’s children cousins. We are not blood related, however, growing up we lived a block away from each other, ate and played at each other's homes all the time. We attended Mass every Sunday at our cherished St. Sebastian Church where parish activities created a strong bond among those of us lucky enough to remember that era. Above all our parent’s love and respect for one another made us family!! We shared the good and the bad.

We are grateful for knowing Moises and thank him (and Isabel) for giving us cousins when we didn’t have any other relatives in the US.

Jose, Auilda, Bilin, Roberto, Ana and Maneco your dad touched many lives with his good deeds and kindness. He made a difference in this world and he will always have a special place in our hearts. We love you and will keep you in our prayers.

Con todo cariño y respeto,
Compai’ Raul Mendieta y familia.

Tío moisés was a great man. He was a man of faith and courage and good moral carácter. He was our uncle but at the same time he was a father to all of us. He was a hard worker. He worked all his life and yet he would always find or make the time to give a helping hand. Helping hand to family, friends, neighbors or anyone whom he came across and needed a helping hand. What he did he did it with plasure and with good faith. Never ever expecting anything in return or to seek advantage for his of a situation. I will always, always be greatful for the countless thing that he did for all of us. I will always love and remember him . Thanks you very much dear Tio Moises.

Moises may the perpetual light shine upon you. I worked at St. Sebastian for many years as a lecturer, commentator, and sang in the choir. I was also a translator from English to Spanish. I enjoyed working there with you.
