Oritia F. Roy

Oritia was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, to Antonio Abad Figueroa and Rosita Rivera on February 27, 1929. Oritia spent most of her upbringing in Rio Piedras, PR, and later obtained her Batchelor’s degree from Nazareth College in Kentucky, USA, with a full scholarship.

She was married to Edward Emile Roy on Sunday, August 19, 1951, and was happily married for 56 years until the passing of Edward in 2007.

Oritia is survived by her children Thomas Victor Roy (in heaven), Mark Roy, John Roy, Ann Marie Roy, Mary Theresa Roy, James Roy, Frances Clare Roy, and Linda Sue Roy. Her grandchildren: Paul Roy, Yomaris Matos, Frankie Matos (in heaven), Maillil Matos, Mary Ann Eliza Rios, Victoria Ann Rios, Olivia Tami, Joshua Zachary Brennan, Lily Noel Brennan, Branch Nathan Brennan. Great grandchildren: Jaydalinne Thompson, JeanPaul Matos, Julian Ayala, Kiara Ayala, Genesis Jimenez, Alexander Rosario, Violet Mary Nguyen, Lukas Roy, and Elsie Roy. And great great grandchildren: Oden Brennan and Liam Brennan.

Visitation for Oritia will be held on August 8, 2025, at 9:00 am followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 am with a catered reception immediately following the Service and subsequent burial being held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL, at 1:30 pm.
