

Pete Egan, 66, of Orlando passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital after a brief bout of pneumonia. He is survived by his devoted wife, Melanie (nee Curtis) of 38 years; his daughter Brenna Egan of Tampa, and son Patrick (wife, Misa) and two grandchildren, Chloe and Finn Egan, all of Camas, Washington, and his brother Dennis Egan (wife, Betsy) of Virginia.
Pete was born July 17, 1953, in Bronx, New York, the youngest son of the late William and Helen (nee Schurek) Egan. Pete’s family moved to New Jersey, and later Pete attended college at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida. He met Melanie when they both were working for US Home Corporation in Clearwater, Florida in 1977. The following year they moved to Orlando, where they married and raised their children. Pete graduated from UCF in 1985 with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked as a lab supervisor at Lockheed Martin until his retirement in 2009.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday February 25, 2020 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Family Funeral Care, 13001 South John Young Pkwy Orlando, Florida 32837. A Funeral Mass will held on Thursday February 27, 2020 at 10:30am at Holy Cross Catholic Church 12600 Marsfield Ave. Orlando, Florida 32837. Burial will take place at Osceola Memory Gardens in Kissimmee, Florida.
