
Quynh Quoc Nguyen, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday 13, 2014 at South Bay Hospital, Sun City Center, Florida.
Graduated from the National Military Academy in 1951 in Vietnam. He spent his whole life serving his country & was very well loved and respected by his military and civil communities. A truly inspirational man with many accomplishments: knew 4 languages: Vietnamese, French, English and Latin; traveled to the US in 1965 for training with the US Army; was a Colonel in the South Vietnamese Army, Governor of Quang Tri province, Commander of the Political Warfare University and much more.
Quynh is survived by his wife, Mai Nguyen of 68 years, son Huy Nguyen, daughters Theresa (Do) Nguyen, Maria Hanh (Cuong) Vo, Huyen (Thuyen) Doan, Huong (Tuan) Bui, Lisa (Thanh) Nguyen, Han (Duy) Lam, Hoa (Chau) Nguyen, stepsons Quy (Cuc) Pham, Cuong Pham, stepdaughter Chau Francis, sister Hang (Boi) Duong and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. He was a devoted husband to his wife as well as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all.
The family will receive friends on Thursday June 19 from 4-8 pm, Friday June 20 from 3-6 at Baldwin-Fairchild Ivanhoe Funeral Home, 301 Northeast Ivanhoe Boulevard, Orlando, Florida; and on Friday June 20 from 7:30-9:30pm (Vigil for the deceased) and Funeral Mass on Saturday June 21 from 10-11am at Vietnamese Catholic Church, 15 West Par Street, Orlando , FL 32804. Burial service will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, FL 32789.
