Robert attended college at the University of Florida, where he became a lifelong Florida Gator. He spent his entire career as a federal employee with the Navy, dedicating decades of service to his country.
Outside of work, Robert had a deep love of music, reading, history, and traveling. He was a devoted sports fan, cheering on the Florida Gators, the New York Yankees, the New York Knicks, and the New York Giants. He treasured time spent with his family and took great pleasure in good food.
Robert was known for his sense of humor, always ready with a joke to bring a smile to those around him. He was equally known for his devotion to the people he loved — he showed up for them, always, without fail. Whether a big milestone or a small moment, if it mattered to someone he loved, Robert was there.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of more than 40 years, Marilyn Colot; his daughter, Christine Meehan, and son-in-law, Johnny Meehan; his two grandchildren, Jack and Johanna; his three sisters; and his favorite granddog, Sven. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his humor, his generosity, and the quiet support he gave so consistently to those around him.
Services will be held with a memorial visitation later this month. Further details will be provided when available.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the University of Florida Gators athletics program in Bob’s memory.
Visitation Services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at The Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit Church, 17 Earlington Ave, Mullica Hill, NJ 08062.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, followed by a mass.
Robert will be laid to rest in a private ceremony.
