Robert D. Hughes

Robert D. Hughes, 59, passed away on January 12, 2013, at ORMC.  Robert was born in Maysville, Kentucky, the son of Allene Sidell Davis and the late Charles T. Hughes.  Robert was ten years old when he moved to Orlando in 1964 with his parents Allene and Clyde Davis. He graduated from Colonial High School in 1971, where he was a star football player and attended Valencia Community College for two years. Robert was a member of Conway United Methodist Church where memorial service has been scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013. He is being cremated and a service will also be held in Kentucky, at a later date. Robert is survived by his uncles Edward Sidell, of Dover, Kentucky, Billy Ray Sidell, of Yuma, Arizona and aunts Trang Sidell, of Arlington, Texas and Betty Sidell, of Ashland, Kentucky and two stepsons Chris and Thomas Gatlin, of North Florida Robert is also survived by his cousins and many close friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Conway United Methodist Church, 3401 South Conway Road, Orlando, Florida 32812.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, Florida. 407-898-2561.
