Samuel Benjamin Hopkins III

Samuel B. Hopkins III passed away March 12, 2010 in Seattle, Washington. Sam was a resident and native of Orlando until his recent move. He was a graduate of Boone High School and the University of Central Florida. Sam was a Paramedic in the Central Florida area for many years and distinguished himself as a compassionate care-giver with exemplary skills and as an instructor and mentor. He will be remembered by his friends, fellow professionals and family as a loving relative and as a significant influence in the early years of advanced, pre-hospital emergency medical services. Sam is preceded in death by his mother, Sara Layton Hopkins. He is survived by his father, Samuel B. Hopkins, Jr., his brothers, David and Jeff Hopkins, his sister-in-law, Candace Hopkins and nieces and nephews: Kathryn, James, Layton and Ariel. A memorial gathering will be held 2:00 pm April 16, 2010 at the Carey Hand Chapel 2811 Curry Ford Road Orlando, FL.
