Thomas J. Toomey

Thomas J. Toomey (93), born 1919 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at his home in Orlando, FL, February 16, 2013, with his loved ones by his side. He is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law Maureen and John Conroy, beloved granddaughters Elizabeth Dwyer and Laurie Torres and great granddaughter Katie Torres, beloved sister Helen Renter, and many loved nieces and nephews. He retired from the United States Air Force a Lt. Colonel and proudly served his country, first a medic, then, as a pilot during WWII, Korean War (overseas), and Vietnam War. He loved his family very much and lived a very fulfilling life. He will truly be missed and will always be remembered by his family and friends as a truly kind hearted man. A viewing will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m, at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 E. Curry Ford Rd Orlando, FL 32806. FuneralMass willtake place on Saturday,11am, at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 4545 Anderson Road, Orlando, FL 32812. Interment to followat Chapel Hill Cemetery, 2400 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL 32817.
