

Verner Nicholas Teipel of Orlando Florida passed away November 9th at home surrounded by his loving family. Vern was born April 2nd 1919, to Charles and Myrtle Teipel, on the Spring Valley Ranch in Verdigre Nebraska where it was part of the Santee Sioux Indian Reservation. He received his early education in a one room school house called Hillside School, and graduated in 1936 from Verdigre High school. Following graduation Vern joined the Civilian Conservation Corps, and worked on farms throughout the Dakotas, Iowa and Minnesota. He attended Creighton University in Omaha, and worked for Bel Air craft in New York prior to joining the Army Air Corp in 1942. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Vern married his loving wife Nina Jean Ruff, January 30th, 1944. He worked in the automotive industry in Connersville Indiana prior to moving to Orlando Florida where he continued to work in this field opening A-1 Auto Salvage. He started the first little league in Connersville, as well as the first 4-H club. He was a member of the Elks, Kiwanis, and Pershing Avenue Christian Church. After retirement he purchased a farm in Clinton Arkansas where he raised cattle. He also visited his cabin on the Missouri River in Santee Nebraska, where he was able to continue his life long passion of hunting and fishing.
Vern was preceded in death by his parents’ and Sister Helen. Vern is survived by his wife, Nina Jean (Ruff) Teipel, his children and their spouses, Mike & Anne Teipel, Nancy & Jim Mooring and LeAnn & Mark Robertson ,his grandchildren Sage Mooring, Forrest and wife Sarah (Guzman) Teipel and Caitlin Liana Robertson, Sherri Rene (Mooring) Langley and Loraine (Mooring) Ferrell and many other friends & family.
We will all miss his love, strength, sense of humor and zest for life.
Memorial services will be held at Pershing Christian Church in Orlando Florida. Burial will take place at East Hill Cemetery in Rushville Indiana. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations sent to Glenwood first Christian Church.
