

Born on March 12, 1942, in Ciales, Puerto Rico, to Pastor Negron and Bonifacia Rivera-Negron, Victor was a man of exceptional kindness and generosity. He had a remarkable humanitarian spirit and lived his life with warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
Victor was a self-taught musician, able to play any instrument placed in his hands, though he was especially known for his talent as a percussionist. His passion for music led him to perform with legendary artists such as Tito Puente, Hector Lavoe, and Willie Colón, leaving a lasting impact on the music industry. His rhythms and vibrant spirit brought joy to countless people over the years.
Beyond music, Victor had a deep appreciation for the rare and beautiful. He was an avid antique lover with a keen eye for unique finds and a profound respect for history. He believed in living life to the fullest and approached each day with gratitude, humility, and joy. Victor dedicated over two decades of service as an elevator operator at the New Jersey Medical Center, retiring at age 62. His work ethic, gentle demeanor, and infectious humor made him beloved by all who knew him.
Victor is survived by his daughters, Luisa Perez (Cookie) and Jean Centeno (Mara); his brother, Nika Negron; grandchildren, Hiram Centeno, Gabriela Perez, Melissa Centeno, Sandra Perez, Arielle Centeno, and Ana Lisa Perez; and great-grandchildren, Mia De Gouveia, Rihanna Perez, Nova Richetts, Camren Richetts, and Mason Anderson. Victor’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the music he made, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
