Barbara Theresa Gasco

Barbara T Gasco passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the age of 87, surrounded, as in life, by loved ones. She is survived by her husband of over 66 years, Alfred Gasco, whose irrepressible wit she matched daily with a kindness as irrepressible. Whether moving to Georgia to serve the military or in Sicily to explore, as purveyors of local pizza or hosting an ever-growing family for lunch and garden tour, Barbara's selfless heart was the core of the life they built as "Fred and Babs" and why he has always said she is the greatest woman he has ever known. On that foundation of laughter, faith, and love they raised the adoring family that now mourns her passing and celebrates her kind and joyful spirit, especially her children Susan Aubuchon, Deborah Corcoran, Stephen Gasco, Marcia Raymond, Paula Gasco, Lynne Hammatt, and Nancy Morton; her 17 grandchildren; and her 19 great-grandchildren. Services in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018. Visitation will be held from 9-10:30 am at Nickerson Funeral Home, Orleans, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joan of Arc, Orleans at 11 am.
