
Barbara Williams Quattrone died on February 5, 2015. Born in New York City in 1921, Barbara attened the Madeira School in Fairfax County, Virginia, received a BA from Vassar College and an MLS from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.
In 1942 she married Joseph Quattrone from whom she was divorced in 1976. She lived for many years in Riverside, CT and was the librarian at Greenwich Academy. After moving to Orleans on Cape Cod in 1980, she was a staff librarian at Snow Library and operated a bed and breakfast with her longtime friend Susan Flaws. In 2006 they retired to the Oaks of Orleans. For the past four years, Barbara was a resident at The Victorian in North Chatham.
Barbara was an avid reader, skilled needle pointer and loved her morning walks to Skaket Beach. She was a long time member of First Parish Brewster Unitarian Univeralist.
Barbara is survived by two sons David Quattrone of Greenwich, CT and Robert Quattrone of Sarastoa, FL. She was predeceased by a third son Peter Quattrone. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Michael Quattrone of Tarrytown, NY and Joanna Quattrone of Cincinnati, OH, as well as three great-grandchildren, Willow, Jasper and Fox, and her sister Betsy Williams of Lexington, MA.
A memorial service will be held at First Parish Brewster on Saturday, April 11th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Parish Brewster Endowment Fund, 1 Harwich Road, Brewster, MA 02631 or to Hope Hospice, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
