Bradford passed away suddenly on July 2, 2021 after a brief time of failing health in his home in Brewster, MA with his cats, Bailey and Little Buddy at the age of 80.
Bradford was born on December 18, 1940 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Lester and Georgia Eastman. He attended trades school, where he succeeded as a skilled builder. He started his career building craftsman style houses on Cape Cod. In time, he transitioned to building specialty bird houses that were artfully designed and sold in area galleries. Brad was a proud Marine serving for several years, with deployment to the Bay of Pigs.
Brad’s true love was Nancy. Brad was Nancy’s rock. He brought Nancy great comfort and relaxation in a time that was unsettled for her. Together they enjoyed the Cape’s natural beauty, placid vistas and lifestyle, while sharing their love for arts, crafts and their cats. They made their modest house a home with all their treasures that were symbolic of their happy memories. Together, they made adjustments to their home to make their cats lives better and safe. In life, they wanted happiness most, and to treasure the love that they shared for each other. He stood strong by her side through her heroic battle with pancreatic cancer.
Brad enjoyed his long walks along Rock Harbor in Orleans, MA, where he would visit with local fisherman and shop owners. He especially loved searching for bird carvings or new ideas for his own carving. Brad loved to fish, whether is was flounder fishing off the dock or digging for quahogs and bring home for dinner for his family. He enjoyed the fresh caught food as much as he did spending time with those that joined him.
Brad had many wonderful accomplishments in his life that made his life full. He is survived by 3 children and 2 stepchildren. Shawn Eastman of North Berwick, ME his wife Heather and sons, Aidan and Garrett. Shanon Demello of Monmouth, ME and her husband Charles and children, Brian, Sara, and Hannah. He is also survived by many loved siblings, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife of 35 years Nancy and his step son ,Kevin.
Brad treasured the events and accomplishments of his family. He was very proud of all of his family and loved to know anything that was happening in their lives. Steve was a treasured friend, that he enjoyed meeting daily to catch up on all that was happening around the area, watching out for each others like brothers. Brad was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile and a kind and compassionate spirit. He would always wave and smile at anyone he passed.
