

Carol J. Crowley, passed June 28th. She was predeceased by her parents Thomas J. and Matilda (McMahon) Crowley, her brothers James B. Crowley and Paul T. Crowley (MaryAnn), and sisters Mary C. Vivian (Charles) and Matilda V. Gallagher (Frank J. Jr). Carol will be dearly missed by her sister-in-law Winifred Crowley, of CA, and cousins Helen (McMahon) Hootsmans and Clare (McMahon) Bernard, along with godchildren Thomas J Crowley, Jane F Gallagher and Eileen Crowley Ramer, and myriad nieces and nephews.
Originally of Cambridge, MA, she graduated from Radcliffe College ‘57; Master of Music at Yale University; teacher of music at Emma Willard School (Troy, NY). She had performed as an organist at St. Peters Church in Cambridge, and had served as a Choral Director. After serving as caretaker and companion for her mother, she moved to Provincetown to stay with her lovely Aunt Mary (McMahon) Murchison. Carol was a resident of Orleans for over 20 years.
Her passion for music continued throughout her life. She had performed as an organist at the Orleans United Methodist Church, and piano accompaniment at local area nursing homes & gatherings in more recent years.
Carol enjoyed concerts and theater, museums and gardens, and conversation with friends. Twice, Carol was a determined cancer survivor, and a very kind and generous person. Years of happiest times were shared with & assisted by the Orleans Council on Aging.
There will be a Funeral Mass, Tuesday July 12, 2016 at 10am, at St. Joan of Arc Church, Orleans, MA. Burial and celebration of life will also be announced in the early autumn. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carol J. Crowley are suggested to the Orleans Council on Aging, 150 Rock Harbor Road, Orleans, MA 02653.
