

EASTHAM – Carol A. Potter, 70, of Eastham, MA died at home on March 18, 2015. She was born in New Britain, CT, the daughter of William and Helen (Borawski) Spring. She graduated from New Britain High School and Central Connecticut State University and taught in the Southington, CT school system and was active in Delta Kappa Gamma until her retirement in 2000. Carol was a dedicated teacher who cherished her students and left a lasting impression on many.
Upon retirement and following her dream to live by the sea, Carol was employed by the Cape House Hallmark Shop and was a member of the Eastham Elementary School Council. She was involved in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and Purple Stride Pancreatic Cancer Action Network walk and thoroughly enjoyed the many activities surrounding her dance and exercise classes.
She was the beloved wife of John V. Potter, who predeceased her last year. She leaves behind her loving son, Christian Kasey, and his wife Enny Lee of Okpo, Geoje Island, South Korea; stepchildren and their families, Beth Andrews of Farmington, CT, Alice Cartwright of Poland, Ohio, Kate Mitchell of Unionville, CT, and Scott Potter of Rollinsville, CO; and nine grandchildren. Carol is also survived by her devoted twin brother, William Spring, and his wife Irene of Southington, CT; her nieces and their families, Laura-Jean Minton of Plantsville, CT, Lisa Unwin of Plainville, CT, and Julie Spring and dear friend Debbie Colucci of Kensington, CT; godmother Gertrude Seremet of Newington, CT, Aunt Lorraine and her husband Lou Bobrowski of Morrisville, NC; in-laws and their families, Rev. Bob and Chris Potter of Wheelock, VT, Bill and Cathy Potter of Wethersfield, CT, and Grace and Don Cranick of Falls Church, VA; and many treasured cousins and friends.
Carol’s family wishes to thank Hope Hospice for all of their support, love and help during her battle with pancreatic cancer.

Visiting hours will be from 9a-11a on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30a at Our Lady of Lourdes, Wellfleet, MA on the same day. Burial will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
