Carole Ann Kay Combs passed away peacefully with loving family by her side on March 4, 2025. She leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Dick, her daughters Valerie and Dorothy, their husbands David and Mike, and four grandchildren Benjamin, Ava, Joseph, and Michael.
Carole was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Family was always her highest priority. She loved her family and friends with all her heart and taught her daughters and grandchildren to love deeply.
She dedicated her professional life to conservation work, much of it as a volunteer. She gave countless hours of her time and energy to help protect important natural areas, while working tirelessly for and as the leader of several environmental organizations on both coasts. Nature was a source of incredible beauty, inspiration and comfort for Carole. She always took the time to share the beauty she saw in the world around her with her family. She instilled in her daughters and grandchildren an appreciation for the fragile beauty of the natural world and the importance of protecting it.
We will carry our beloved Carole, Mom and Grammie with us in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to an environmental organization in Carole’s name would be greatly appreciated. Before her passing, Carole was volunteering for the Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative on Cape Cod and often talked about how important the organization’s work was to her.
