

Charles “Chuck” Edward McCormick, age 66, of Brewster Massachusetts, passed away suddenly on September 4, 2024. Charles was born July 13, 1958 in Morrow County, OH. He was a dearly loved father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend.
Charles leaves behind his beloved son, Charles “Chucky” Thomas McCormick, granddaughters Alexandra E McCormick and Stella Gibbs. He is also mourned by his partner of 7 years, Leah DeTellis, and her son Connor S. DeTellis, whom he played a significant role in raising. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Ann Poteete, and his brother Daniel Lynn McCormick. Also left behind is Charles Thomas’s mother Theresa McCormick.
Charles, always an animal lover, had three cats at the time of his death; Sweetie, Kiki, and Snickers. His cherished dog Buddy, recently passed away, may they be reunited now .
Chuck also had a 1932 Ford Model A hot rod that, despite considerable efforts from him and his friend, John Harvey, remains unfinished. They spend many Saturdays working tirelessly and making considerable progress recently.
In his younger years, Chuck grew up on a farm with his siblings and loved to hunt with both firearms and his bow, which he was highly skilled with. Later, he worked as a bodyman, repairing automobile bodies in Georgia and Massachusetts, his main profession. Most recently, he was employed at The Tinknocker in Orleans, MA where he made many friends and created fond memories.
Chuck was known for his outgoing and caring nature,treating everyone he met with kindness. He cherished time with family and loved sharing bad jokes, especially with his adoring granddaughter who gave him endless joy. A sentimental person, he loved nature and took turkey and other wildlife pictures in the neighborhood. He was a supportive partner to Leah during her health struggles and a steady father figure for Connor.
A memorial gathering will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans.
