

Eastham, Christopher Newton, 52 passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side May 7, 2014 after a heroic battle with cancer. Chris overcame several odds that were against him as he struggled with cancer. He went down fighting as anyone who knew him would expect.
He is survived by his loving wife Julie (Rabbitt) Newton of 32 years; daughter Teresa Newton of Yarmouth, son Jonathan Newton of Chatham his son Michael Newton and his parents, Gerald and Diane Newton of Eastham, 2 brothers Bob Newton of Ashland and David Newton of Plymouth, 2 sisters Kathleen Beaulieu of Sandwich, Cindy Leahy of Washington State and many nieces and nephews as well as his beloved dog Trooper.
Chris had a dynamic personality and could tell a great story. He was a very giving man who never asked for anything in return. He loved to help those in need. Chris worked for the Department of Youth Services for 18 years as the assistant facility director helping troubled kids. He also was a commercial fisherman for many years. Chris loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Monday May 12th from 10am – 12noon at Nickerson Funeral Home 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans MA. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church, Canal Rd., Orleans at 12:30 PM followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Eastham.
