

David James Sheptyck of Eastham Massachusetts died on Wednesday October 18, 2023 after a long illness. Aged 76, David was born in Milton Massachusetts on October 23, 1946 to the late Stephen J. Sheptyck and Ann Margaret (Gillespie) Sheptyck, both of Milton and Eastham. He attended Milton High School and received his B.S. and M.B.A at Suffolk University. He worked in marketing for Xerox and Prime Computer before moving with his family permanently in 1984 to Eastham, Massachusetts and starting a homecare business.
David loved his work and was passionate about entrepreneurship and shared his experiences as a small business owner as an adjunct professor for many years at several colleges including Cape Cod Community College, Suffolk University, and Lesley College. David was an Eastham legend and loved his town. He served as a member of the Eastham Elementary School Committee for many years, was involved in the extension of the Cape Cod Rail Trail into Wellfleet, and was an active member of the Eastham Elks Lodge.
David loved all of the cape's natural beauty and was an outdoor enthusiast. An avid, if unsuccessful recreational fisherman, David loved being out on the water. He spent his youth sailing on Cape Cod Bay and ran the beloved Campground Beach Yacht Club Regatta for many years. David loved solitary winter beach walks and lively summer beach days anywhere on Cape Cod.
David was predeceased by his wife, Lora Elizabeth (Marcellino) Sheptyck and his sister, Susan Sheptyck. He leaves behind his brother, Stephen James Sheptyck, Jr. ,two daughters, Elizabeth Anne Sheptyck and Katherine Marcellino Gregory, niece Sarah Grigorio and nephew Ian Grigorio and his grandsons Griffin James Gregory and Asa Julius Sheptyck-Kuppens. He cherished time with his many nieces, nephews, and friends.
David was a gregarious person and had a wicked sense of humor. He leaves behind many friends that supported him throughout his long illness. He will forever be in our hearts.
