Denise Ann Lee, 56

Denise (Dee) Lee, of Brewster, MA; passed away unexpectedly, on Dec. 30, 2019. Denise, who was born in Hyannis in 1963, currently resided in Brewster. She was the eldest daughter of Joan B. Shady (Robert) and Thomas M. Lee (Marianne) of Orleans.

Dee is survived by her sisters Dara Lee of Truckee, CA and Dawn Lee of Chatham; a brother Jason of NC; her three nephews, Austin and Trevor McWhinney of Truckee, CA and Noah Lee of Chatham; also surviving are her Aunt Nancy and Uncle Ray Hamil, plus Corey and Jeff Hamil of FL.

Denise also leaves behind her former long-time companion, Paul Ankuda, of Hyannis with whom she lived for many years.

Dee graduated from Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in Harwich and pursued a career in Cosmetology. She was a hairdresser in Hyannis for many years, before changing course and becoming a home health aide. She was most recently employed at Wingate, in Brewster.

Denise was a kind, compassionate woman, with a heart of gold and a giving spirit, who leaves a wide circle of friends, who were as devoted to her as she was to them. Her presence, love and laughter (always) will be greatly missed by those who felt blessed to have known her.

It was Denise’s wish, from a very early age, “to be remembered as smiling and happy” (her own words), and so shall she be.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time, but will be private and at the convenience of the family. In her memory, please live each day fully with joy and compassion for each other. For online condolences, please visit www.nickersonfunrals.com.

My sweet crazy friend, what am i gonna do without you? I still find myself going to text you with funny stupid info. You always were straightforward with your thoughts and opinions just one of the reasons i love you, you never judged me once with what i told you and you always made me laugh either when i was down or just because. Thats just you. You made anybody and everybody feel wanted even if they met you once. Your gonna be missed by soooo many people. You have touched everybody that were lucky enough to come across your path. Im so thankful i had met you and thankful and honored to have you as a friend. Give them hell up there. Love always, lauren😘❤

I will always remember your laughter and funny stories/stellar impersonations (always told and acted out with a loving heart) not only at our work place but here in our "little compound " as you liked to call it. Our fire pit nights will always be remembered as your bellowing laugh will always be heard over the crackling flames!Thank you for being an ever present observer over the property and loving it even when "The Coop" became waterfront property. Here's to you crossing over your "drawbridge " once more. My mother wanted me to say that she'll miss sending me over to you with goodies from her kitchen❤
Denise, I can Only Imagine what your seeing right now.
Thank you for the memories...rest in peaceful love.
