

Richfield Springs, NY- Dennis W. “Billy” Dugan, 67 passed away peacefully at home on September 22, 2014. Bill is survived by his loving family and the many friends and acquaintances that had the pleasure to know him.
Bill was a lifelong worker. He owned and operated a sand and gravel, trucking and excavating business in Brewster, MA where he was born and raised. He graduated from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School in 1967. He and his family moved to Richfield Springs, NY in 1986 to fulfill his dream of owning a dairy farm. Bill loved his farm and all the things that went along with raising his family in the environment of farming life. Upon his retirement from dairy farming, Bill became an entrepreneur dealing in hay sales, truck and heavy equipment. Bill was a true renaissance man who was able to reinvent himself to earn a living and provide for his family in good times and bad.
Surviving him are his loving wife of 41 years, Elaine, his beloved children Ryan, Erin and fiancé Jeremy Mason, daughter Katie Dugan Atty., husband Dustin and his grandsons Parker and Cooper. Also surviving are two brothers David and Dion and wife Nancy, sister Diane Bronsdon and brother-in-law Michael Lindblom, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, October 5 from 1-4pm at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans. Interment will be private on Monday.
In lieu of flowers the family would like you to consider donations to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation in Bill’s memory.
