

Born February 4, 1930 in Auburn N.Y.to the late Percy and Isabelle Cornish. Donovan graduated from Auburn East High School in 1948.
In 1949 he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean Conflict, attended Officer Candidate School at Fort Bragg and attained the rank of Captain by 1954. He served as a member of the Army Reserve until 1964.
Donovan married Roberta Cox in 1956 in Homer N.Y. and relocated to New London, Connecticut working for the Good year Tire and Rubber Company as a regional Sales Manager. They soon relocated to Springfield, Massachusetts where they raised their two sons. Donovan worked for 30 years for Springfield Wire Inc. as Sales Director and finally as VP of Sales.
Always a man of faith, he was an active church member as a Deacon, Moderator, Choir member and as an Executive Committee member at Foster Memorial Congregational Church in Springfield and later at the Eastham Methodist Church here on the Cape. He was also involved in many of Easthams’ Windmill Weekends throughout the years.
Donovan is survived by his wife of 66 years, Roberta Cornish; his two sons Donovan J. Cornish of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Jeffery A. Cornish of Weymouth, Massachusetts; and 5 grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Friday, November 18 at the Eastham Methodist Church, 3200 Rt. 6 with the burial following at Evergreen Cemetery, Eastham.
