Edward was raised in Mansfield, MA. As a child, he spent summers at his parents’ cottage on Mill Road in Eastham. He graduated from Mansfield H.S., served in the Coast Guard, and earned a BFA from the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University and an MA from Bridgewater University. Edward was an accomplished artist and teacher, mentoring hundreds of students as they established careers of their own. He taught for 40 years, the last 25 of which were as head of the art department at Barnstable H.S. He also served on the Eastham Historical Commission for twelve years and the Volunteer Fire Department and as a part time Policeman.
He is survived by Mary, his beloved wife of 66 years, daughter Karen Danenberger (Bud), granddaughter Kristin Szczenski (Paul), great grandson Ben, and his dearest friends Jean and Gordon Avery.
Edward loved life, living most of it on Cape Cod. He was an avid sailor, and was loved by all for his spirit, humor, kindness, and intellect. He was a loyal friend who accepted people for who they were and always brought out the best in them.
Edward was always amazed with God’s creations and saw the beauty in everything.
