Eleanor Politza, age 98, of Eastham, MA, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.

Eleanor was born on March 20, 1923 in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Gaffney) Cook.

She was a 1941 graduate of Hastings-on-Hudson High School and in 1946 married her loving husband of 51 years, John Politza, who predeceased her in 1997. Eleanor worked as a keypunch operator at Anaconda Wire & Cable Company in Hastings-on-Hudson NY, where she met John. They worked together for combined 81 years of service and in 1981 they retired together to Cape Cod where they became members of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Eleanor was an avid knitter and enjoyed reading. She loved the beach and would often be found swimming in the bay with her flowered bathing cap. Eleanor looked forward to her visits with friends and family, and rarely missed a party. She had a sharp memory and the ability to tell a great story which would bring a smile to anyone.

Eleanor is survived by many nieces and nephews, all of whom adored her and were honored to have her as their aunt. She was predeceased by her sister Edna (Cook) Aluisio in 2002 and Veronica (Cook) Beaudrault in 2012.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 20th 2021 at 4:00pm to 5:30pm at Nickerson Funeral Home (77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA 02653). A funeral mass will be held on Monday June 21st at 2:00pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Church (2282 Rt 6, Wellfleet, MA 02667).

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 23rd 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Dowdle Funeral Home (64 Ashford Ave, Dobbs Ferry, NY 10522). A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, June 23rd 2021 at 12:00 PM at the St. Matthew's R. C. Church (616 Warburton Ave, Hastings-On-Hudson, NY 10706).

She was a favorite customer of mine..always looked at the bright side of everything! She was so proud of her family, nieces and nephews that helped her out, especially in the later years. And she ALWAYS accessorized her outfits beautifully with her jewelry. Such a lovely lady❤️
