Elizabeth "Betty" Kumer Livingston

Elizabeth “Betty” Kumer Livingston, age 92, passed away at Pleasant Bay Nursing Home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Dr. Lawrence A. Ehrhart who died in 1952, and Russell Livingston who died in 1986. She was born in Aspinwall, PA and lived in Pennsylvania and Texas before moving to Orleans in 1955. She attended Carnegie Institute of Technology, now Carnegie Mellon, and the University of Pittsburgh.

She was employed in a number of local medical offices and worked seven years during the 1960’s in the principal’s office of what is now Nauset Middle School. For several years she was the assistant manager of the Salt Pond Motel in Eastham and later at Nauset Knoll in Orleans. When she moved to Brewster, she worked at the Brewster Ladies Library.

She was a member of the Orleans United Methodist Church, former member of Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary and the Orleans Yacht Club.

She is survived by four sons, Lawrence A. Ehrhart III and wife, Diane of Chicago, IL; James R. Ehrhart and wife, Ellen of Brewster, MA; Dr. Robert H. Ehrhart and wife, Rica of Kohler, WI and Russell Livingston and wife, Connie of Linden, CA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several cousins.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Orleans Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1565, Orleans, MA 02653. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 7th, 2014 at the Orleans United Methodist Church. Burial will be private.
